CUSTODIAL SUPERVISOR SAYS GOODBYE AFTER MORE THAN 30 YEARS
the BRIDGETOWN, Barbados, January 22, 2014 – After giving more that 30 years of unbroken service to Grantley Adams International Airport, Custodial Supervisor, Monica Belgrave said good bye to her colleagues during a recent ceremony.
Speaking during the retirement function held in her honour, Ms. Belgrave told the audience that she had worked with the airport for 34 years and enjoyed the experience, particularly whenever passengers made glowing remarks about the cleanliness of the terminal.
Ms. Belgrave worked with GAIA Inc. for seven years after transferring from the International Transport Department. She remarked that the company had been good to her over the years, especially in exposing her to various types of training.
The retirement function was attended by workmates, management and family. In commenting, Chief Operating Officer, Mr. Joseph Johnson highlighted the positive attitude Monica had brought to bear in her work. Mr. Johnson recalled that at no time could he remember an employee under her charge making any complaints for her and admonished other supervisors to “take a leaf from Monica’s book”.
Following the formal speeches, Ms. Belgrave was presented with a number of gifts from the company.
